7/14/12 - Config System 3.0 Update

The config system has been updated! (nevermind the fact that it was missing from Spikes Quest Demo #4)

> New UI system entirely from scratch
> Key-mapping and gamepad support
> Background scrolls and changes colors (not neecesary, but kinda neat)

With the addition of the key-map and gamepad features I should note that during the game you can either play with the keyboard, or connect a gamepad and instantly start playing with that without having to change the settings to do so.

I may release a testing kit just for the config system later this next week. So if your interested in testing it out, please stay tuned.

  3. I was wondering what way are you making this game? I love Spike to death, but I have also been looking to make Hobby video games using some of those visual scripting game makers like Construct 2 or Game Maker or Game Salad.

If you are not using one of those I'm just curious do you find it easier to just program?

    1. I use Blitz Max which is a simplified coding language (I just prefer to create my own setup, really. It makes me feel much more proud of my creations)

But if your looking for some good easy game designing software, I'd recommend you look into Clickteam's software. they're the creators behind The Games Factory and Multimedia Fusion... both drag and drop type software with an easy to use setup.

      Good luck! :)

    1. yeah, that's their cheapest software actually. :P

I recommend trying the demos out first before deciding to purchase any of them. just to see if its what your looking for. But I'm sure you have enough sense to do that already xD
